J.M.
Rogers J.M. Rogers returns each year on the first of June to her native state of Maine to paint the area she loves most and to open her gallery in Lincolnville Beach. Her powerful watercolors, oils and acrylics speak to the hearts of all those who have visited the rocky coast Maine and have been mesmerized by the pounding surf, or marveled at the fall colors of its hills. Judith frequently travels abroad to experience and capture the excitement of foreign cultures. Her watercolors are noted for their colorful and moving applications of broad brush strokes and love of nature. A plein air artist, Judith has always painted on location in order to grasp the movement of the moment and depict it on paper or canvas. Her direct approach and vertical style of painting upright has created her unique and powerful style and her passion for painting can be seen and felt as you view her works. J.M. has taught throughout the country, from Mesa Arizona, where she established a gallery, to her studio in Tarpon Springs Florida, where she conducts private classes today. J.M. Rogers attended Vesper George School of Art in Boston Massachusetts and studied with Don Stone in Rockport Mass for a season. She then attended The Institute of Allende in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico. Her award wining watercolors have appeared on the covers of Down East Magazine of Maine and Beach Life Magazine of Florida, among others. J.M. is a member of numerous art groups including the Florida Watercolor Society, the Art Association of Rockport Massachusetts, the Central Florida Watercolor Society and the Tarpon Springs Art Association in Florida where Judith winters, when not painting abroad. |
